The Attorney

Robert C. Bergen received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1978 after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Davis in 1975. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Bergen joined the Public Defender’s Office in Sutter County, which provided extensive experience in litigation, including numerous jury trials. 

 

Mr. Bergen has been practicing family law in Orange County since 1982. His practice is limited to family law matters. He  has been appointed regularly by the Court to represent the interests of minor children in contested custody matters, as well as act as a Special Master/ Referee, to determine property and discovery issues. Mr. Bergen has served extensively as Judge Pro Tem in the Superior Court for family law division.  The experience of sitting on both sides of the bench has generated invaluable insight into the inner perceptions of the judicial rulings.

 

Mr. Bergen has represented over 1500 clients in all areas of family law which include: contested child custody, child support, visitation, spousal support, marital dissolution, legal separation, grandparent’s rights, paternity, property distribution, prenuptial agreements, support modification, guardianships, out of state and move away disputes.  In Mr. Bergen’s 30 years of practice, there is little in the way of family law matters that he has not successfully experienced.  His reputation with the judicial officers of the Orange County Superior Court and the legal community in general are far above and beyond the average, less experienced Orange County litigator. 

 

By nature, Mr. Bergen is organized, confident and personally dynamic.  By virtue of his extensive experience, Mr. Bergen has a well developed courtroom presence that has a proven track record. He is both affordable and prudent regarding legal fees with the conviction equitable representation should be attainable for all.
